Frequently Asked Questions About Framing
Read MoreFrequently Asked Questions About Framing:
I have something I want framed. Where do I start?
A: *Start by coming to visit my studio. Together we will chose the appropriate mats, glass and frame within your budget. ~“Why chose custom framing over something ready made on store shelves? A:* I use only the highest quality materials for your framing projects. Off the shelf frames are often made up of plastic or plaster and are not wood based. The mats are not acid free and can fade and bleed, eventually ruining your work. As they age, they may turn brown even if they started out white.
“Why would I benefit from choosing custom framing?
A: * Frames, mats and glass are all custom cut to the right dimensions to fit your artwork. And I have the experience to help you to find the right combination to fit your budget. From newupload
“There are so many options. Can I ask the framer’s opinion? And can I disagree?
A:* It is not uncommon to be confused by the many choices. Free feel to ask my opinion but in the end you are the one that has to live with it the results. I pride myself on NO PRESSURE sales. A good framer should make you feel at ease and never pressured into a selection you are not happy with completely. Ask questions and I will try to help. ~
“How long does it take for something to be framed?”
A:* Framing is a labour intensive skill. Everything is based on the materials needed or time involved. ie: a three dimensional piece vs. a simple framing project. If you have a deadline, please advise me, but the average time is a week to two weeks.
“Will you use my mats and frames, if I bring them in to have a piece assembled?”
A:* Of course! Feel free to bring in anything you already have and together we can complete your project to your satisfaction. You can take the pieces home and assembly them yourself or I can assembly it for you. Your choice. What items can I frame? You can frame about anything.
