C is for cookie and for Christmas
Read MoreHi Everyone!
The weather isn't very Christmasy, but as they say, if you don't like the weather just wait ten minutes. First it was the rain. Then freezing rain and rain mixed with snow. And then the snow began, which turned back to rain and to plus 12 and sun. Then freezing rain again. But at this time of year no one notices the slippery roads when there are Christmas two for one sales (not to be confused with the 'two four' sale at the liquor store). Could it be anymore Maritime than that? This weekend another tree is to be the center of attention when it too, made the great journey from the woods to my living room. This one is really for the kitties so for a brief time they can enjoy playing with bows, shredding wrapping paper and snoozing under a tree without the fear of getting their toosties wet.
FRAMING
These are last days for you to get your Christmas framing done. The only framing I can do is off the shelf framing or if you bring a frame to me to put a project into. My last day open will be December 22, with extended hours of 4:00 for this day only.
BASKET DRAW
The Christmas basket will be drawn on Friday, December 21 at 3:00. It contains tons of yummy goodies and treats plus a $300.00 in free framing. When you make any purchase you get a ballot and chance to enter this great gift basket.
SWEETS & TREATS & ASSORTED SUNDRIES
There are many unique items to pick up for stocking stuffers, to add to a gift basket or as a hostess gift.
There are still quite a few handpainted Christmas balls left to hang on your favourite Christmas tree.I still have a few doggie cookie bags left, but they too are going fast too, as well as the "GIVE & TAKE" doggie leashes and tuggies. And lets not forget the knitted items left that are the perfect gift for Christmas.
Buttercrunch is still on the shelves and I'm making it daily. For large qualities of buttercrunch, ordering deadline is December 19 to receive for pickup before December 22nd. I still have a few bottles of gift sized pepper jelly.
We also have a few new prints that can be matted and even framed for the perfect gift to your favourite art lover!FROM THE GALLERY...
And here is proof that even I can change my mind. I framed a watercolour by Vicki of a yellow rose. It was done in a cream and yellow double mat with a gold frame. After looking at for awhile, I decided to reframe it. I framed it in a slimmer frame and a wider mat, with less yellow tones and more in the gray to cream tones to accent the subtle colour within the painting. After I was done, I was very pleased with the new framing results.Since the last newsletter, I have had some interesting artworks and projects come in to be framed.
This is a painting that was purchased off the stretchers and sent as a rolled canvas. The customer loved the work and wanted to find a way to hang it but didn't want to frame it. It was stretched on wooden stretchers and then I used a special tape to surround the edges to cover the nails and where the artist painted over the sides. It cleans up the sides and is easily removed if the customer wished to frame it in the future.
