Christmas is near and I come bearly gifts...2012
Read MoreHi Everyone!
I have mixed feelings about the fact that my winter coat is hanging in the closet. On the one hand I'm enjoying the 'spring' like weather. Each morning, I have been passing my winter coat over to wear my fall fleece. On the other hand, I would rather have the snow falling gently to earth. There is nothing like the first snow fall to get everyone into the Christmas spirit.

In the last couple of weeks I have had some really interesting framing projects and I wanted to share some of them with you.
This painting is by Frank Carson (1927-2007). The owner found it on an auction site and purchased it. It was my job to frame this 34" x 60" painting. It was a hard decision to choose between two frames and after it was framed, we all agreed that the white distressed wood grain moulding was the perfect one for this special artwork. In the weeks before Remembrance Day, I get requests to frame war medals and memoriblia. This customer brought his uncle's medals, picture, plaque and beret in to be framed. This World War II veteran was 91 when he passed away. What a nice way to remember him. I often sugguest the addition of a poppy to each framed piece. It adds something special...we do remember.
As we get closer to Christmas, I get quite a few needleworks to frame. Often they are very thoughtful Christmas presents for the special person. Some customers brought their works in to be framed for themselves, so they can hang them up in their own homes to enjoy. One example was done in a single red mat with a v-groove and a black frame with wood grain edging. A beautiful and bright addition to any house.
