onight it the beginning of the long season of shedding hair and rolling in dirt. This pony is the first equine is to have SUPER thick and SUPER wavy (aka-twisy-knotty) mane and tall. Hours of brushing while he snoozes. Most horse people would 'roach' or 'hog'- completely shaving the mane and sometimes forelock. No thanks! Every horse either had no forelock or mane or was thin and stringy. Not only is a mane a beautiful thing but it serves a purpose in a horses life to protect and shake off those NASTY bugs. And for silly girls that lose their reins, it is something to hang on to on a long gallop!

Nothing more breathtaking is a long flowing mane and tail on a galloping horse. That's if I ever get the knots out!
